Best Car For Less Than £100,000

The Jaguar F-Type R could possibly be the most beautiful car ever and I am not alone in thinking this. An aesthetic masterpiece that instantly makes you want to sell your house, buy one, and live in it forever. Even if it could only rival a Reliant Robin in performance it would still be one of the most desirable and gorgeous cars money can buy; luckily however, it is far from a Reliant. Under the long bonnet, reminiscent of the iconic E-Type lives a monstrous 5-litre V8 supercharged engine, projecting a staggering 550 BHP capable of launching this 1650kg masterpiece to 0-60mph in 4.0 seconds, and all the way to an eye watering top speed of 186mph.

The F-Type R is the sort of car that wouldn’t look out of place parked outside the most luxurious and expensive restaurants in London, and then could rival a 911 round a track in the same day. It is refreshing to see a car compete with Porsche in a market they have seemingly monopolised for years now, and for such an amazing machine such as the F-Type R is, Porsche really do have something to worry about.

Any conversation you have with someone about this car, however, it will always come down to the way it looks. I feel like Jaguar could of put the engine from a jet in it and it reach a top speed of 400mph and people will still be talking about how it is so impossibly beautiful. There isn’t a single angle on this car that doesn’t make you want it.

The opulence and beauty of this car could really make you think why spending £300,000 on a Rolls-Royce is really worth it, or why spend £180,000 on a Mercedes SLS when the F-Types feel and performance is often compared to it? The Jaguar F-Type R is an unbelievably gorgeous car, which would look amazing driving through any prestigious city on the planet, and then when you want it to, it will give you the thrill of your lifetime round a track and leave you smiling for days, and all for £85,000? Bargain.

Super car Showdown (1 of 2)

This is going to be my first instalment of my time at Beaulieu Motor Museum during their ‘super car showdown event’ on Monday 25th of August. I shall upload the second part of this post over the weekend to make this all slightly easier to digest.

About Me.

This is going to be an introduction to who I am and what interests I have…

My name is Anthony Bailey and live in the South Coast of England and I’m 18 years old. I am currently studying Maths, Economics and English Language and Literature and college after dropping computer science after my first year. Although I’m not entirely sure what I want to do with my life I do know that I don’t want to spend the next 50 years of my life in an office and would love to do something much more enjoyable and productive. Having grown up in the age of the internet I have learned that the internet is an extremely powerful tool and it is now possible too make a very comfortable living out of blogging, making YouTube videos or gaming, which all seems a lot more interesting to me and is all definitely something I can see myself doing.

For the past 5 years I have been watching YouTube videos mainly of gamers and entertainers and watched how their channels and lives have grown and improved massively over the years and how this sort of job has become a completely viable career choice. I have always wanted to start my own YouTube channel which would mainly consist of video games such as Call of Duty and FIFA and also do some real world videoing such as skating and just generally going out if I feel I could make an interesting enough video and/or blog out of it. I have been gaming pretty much since my parents would allow it and it has always been a huge interest of mine; I have played competitive Call of Duty and participated in tournaments and I feel I could put more of an entertaining twist on my channel by giving the more competitive side of gaming more of an entertainment angle for a wider audience. I have always felt YouTube would be something I would be good at and hope to eventually get the opportunity to start producing content soon.

Another huge passion of mine is cars. Hopefully anyone who reads this may have also read my encounter with a Bugatti Veyron and would of got the impression that cars are something I am very interested in. Which leads me to thinking another career I would love to do is to be a car journalist, the thought of testing a different car every week or so, no matter what it is, really is something that would be incredible to do. As far as this blog is concerned I will post a bit of everything on it and keep my posts very frequent as long as there is something to talk about. I may therefore write a car review one day and then talk about a recent topic of gaming the next and then talk about what I’ve been up to if it’s anything interesting! I may go on to make separate blogs which each focus on different subjects if this ‘A Bit of Everything’ blog gains much attention. I appreciate it massively if anyone has bothered to read this far and will be posting again shortly! Thank you!!

Meeting a Legend.

For years I have had both a passion and love for all cars. It is a love that I know I share with many people and it is something that car lovers struggle to pinpoint the exact reason for their avidity for cars. Living in the South coast of England I am privileged enough to live just a stones throw away from Beaulieu National Motor Museum which is home to some of the most prestigious and beautiful cars to grace the Earth. With exhibitions dating all the way back to the birth of the motor car itself the museum really is a place that any car nut can spend all day at.

However, as much as I adore and appreciate the older cars such as the Bugattis and Sunbeams and absolutely fell in love with with a Jaguar E-Type in perfect condition; a car that arrived to the museum just a mere 4 days before my visit was about to take my breath away. For the first time in my life I saw an absolutely stunning all-white Bugatti Veyron through a crowd of people. Despite watching every video and Top Gear episode under the sun involving the modern Godfather of super cars, I never would of thought I would be lucky enough to see one in the flesh. It really is one of the great automotive achievements of our time and has been considered by many as ‘a Concorde moment’. The technology, time and money put into this momentous technical exercise really is beyond belief but even when stripped down to a purely aesthetic level it really is something of extraordinary beauty. The flowing body which channels air to its huge rear wing, the amazing wheels bearing the responsibility of the £20,000 tyres, all the way down to the titanium indicator stalks which are £4,000 each, if there was ever going to be a £1,000,000 super car, it would of always been the Veyron. Despite being released 9 years ago I will always be mesmerized by this sublime example of what is possible and feel so privileged to have seen one. And the fact that Bugatti are always trying to further staple themselves as the ultimate in super car performance really is inspirational. Only last year they unveiled the Grand Sport Vitesse at the Shanghai motor show which, of course, achieved the world record for the fastest open-top production sports car at a colossal speed of 254.04 mph; an absolutely monumental achievement. What Bugatti and VW have managed to achieve with the Veyron really is beyond words, always questioning what is possible, never saying ‘that’ll do’ and moving on and forever believing that anything is possible when the time and effort is put into it. An un-parrelleled achievement which will forever put Bugatti in the history books.
